PRE AND POST PROCEDURE CARE

CARING FOR YOUR PERMANENT MAKEUP BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT, IMMEDIATELY AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY - FOR THE LONG TERM.

Pre and Post Care

Please review the pre and post care info for your desired procedure in the drop-down menus below.

There is a significant amount of misinformation circulating online regarding pre-appointment guidelines. Given that our tattoo procedures are gentle, non-invasive, and do not involve any cutting of the skin, there are few factors that would disqualify someone from being a candidate.

To assist you in preparing, we’ve outlined the essential information in the drop-down menus below. The only information we require from you is whether you have any diagnosed clotting or skin healing disorders. If you have any doubts about whether a specific condition may be a contraindication for the procedure, we strongly recommend consulting a physician. Additionally, if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or undergoing chemotherapy, we would need to postpone your appointment until after these circumstances have passed.

If there are any moles, lesions, excessively dry patches, or other irregularities in the area where you wish to receive permanent makeup, we will be unable to tattoo over those areas. A dermatologist can evaluate and remove any concerns, and once healing is complete, we can proceed with the procedure.

We would also be happy to discuss any of this information with you personally. Please feel free to reach out for a complimentary consultation to determine which styles and techniques will best suit your needs.

How to care for your permanent makeup going forward

  1. Laser Facials & Chemical Peels: Advise and remind your technician to avoid your brows and lips.

  2. Anti-Aging Products: Anything that accelerates skin cell turnover MUST not make direct contact with your brows; simply leave a space around your brows and lips when applying these products. Gentle moisturizers are safe for your brows. If you’re unsure, please reach out to us.

    • Retinol, Retin-A, Tretinoin (+ all other Vitamin-A derivatives)

    • Glycolic, Lactic Acid

    • Vitamin C

  3. Sun exposure: Protect your permanent makeup with sunscreen to avoid pigment turning colors and/or fading faster. Bonus points for also wearing a hat. The best types of sunscreens are mineral based.

  4. Lip Tattoo: Keep your lips moisturized with a healing balm, to keep them looking their best. Chapped lips never look good with or without a lip tattoo! Plus a lip balm will keep the color looking vibrant.

  5. Brow Lamination + Tinting/dying/henna: There’s mixed reviews on whether or not the chemicals from brow lamination may lighten/change the pigment in the skin over time. Especially if you have the hair stroke brow, it’s not worth the risk. You may safely tint/dye/henna your brow hair 4 weeks after procedure.
